Its time once again for the League of Extraordinary Bloggers. This time up we’re all going auction shopping. Take a look at the assignment, brought to us by Brian at Cool and Collected.

You have very deep pockets but your shelves are bare. Go on a shopping spree at Hake’s to make your place a little more awesome.
First off let me tell you there are some amazing things on there. If I were you I’d head over to that Hake’s link and just kill an hour or two looking at each and every item. In a time where I’m trying to turn my piles of stuff into a collection full of art and treasures, this auction comes along with nothing but art and treasures. None of this is junk, none of it is foolish. This is some of the most beautiful pop culture gold I’ve ever seen. However, I cant pick everything so lets look at a few things that caught my eye.
Shmoo Lucky Rings
http://www.hakes.com/item.asp?Auction=208&ItemNo=119818
I cannot believe these exist. This means that at some point in time Shmoo was so big that a company decided to make cheap rings with its likeness and knew they would make a profit off of it. Much like Garfield today, in the past Shmoo was a household name. Crazy how these things can be everywhere and then no where.
Baron Daemon button
http://www.hakes.com/item.asp?Auction=208&ItemNo=121405
One of the best documentaries I’ve seen on Netflix is the American Scary one. A history of horror movie hosts from around the country. I was shocked to find one of the most beloved was from nearby Syracuse NY. I wish I was old enough to have experienced this. Since then I’ve been trying to find local pieces and memories of the legacy of Baron Daemon. This piece would be put on prominent display in hopes that friends and family from the area may remember when they watched scary movies with the Daemon.
I wasn’t going to include this, because so many other League members are, but one of the craziest things I’ve ever seen is this line of unmade action figures. Sea Creatures! Created in 1985 for Sanrio, the figures were meant to be like Thundercats or Tigersharks. Each figure was meant to include a weapon or action accessory. These are some amazing looking figures and it seems like no one knows about them. Hopefully this auction leads to another company picking up the rights to this concept and we can get some version of this tale many many years later.
Feast your eyes on Ko-Ral but click on the link below to also see Eel, Hammerhead, Octo, Piranha, and Baron Von Cuder.

Marvel Comics Bound Volumes
http://www.hakes.com/item.asp?Auction=208&ItemNo=119035
What the hell are these?! Really since I looked through the auction items on Monday when Brian gave us this assignment I have not been able to think of anything else. One of the coolest comic book things I’ve ever seen. I’m hoping its incredibly rare too. Every Marvel comic published in June 1992 is bound in these three volumes. They were given out at the Marvel retailer summit in Baltimore that year. I’m thinking most if not all of them were already well aware of every title published at the time by Marvel, but hey whatever. The point is these exist and I don’t think I’ve ever wanted anything more. This is my new holy grail item. Not even this one, but any. July or August, 1993 or 1989. I would just love to have one of these and set it in a place of prominence of my current home and everywhere else I may ever live.
As long as we’re touring houses and seeing these items on display, lets tour the rest of the League and see which items they wanted to buy:
