Daredevil #8 Review.

From Mark Waid, Kano, Marvel Comics.

Part two of a crossover with Amazing Spider-Man (read a review of part 1).

While reading the first part of this book I didn’t even notice how well the story was told… through Spider-Man’s point of view.  Until this issue, which focuses on Daredevil as it is his name on the masthead.

Daredevil and the Black Cat are such a perfect fit I wouldn’t be surprised if the day comes when people are shocked she started out as a Spider-Man character.  Much like the Kingpin, what starts out as a story for webhead is sometimes better for hornhead.  While some men may be intimidated by Black Cat, even fear her, she doesn’t have anything Matt Murdock hasn’t already seen.  Whether it be Karen Page, Typhoid Mary or Elektra; Daredevil has been through it all.  There is nothing that Felicia Hardy and her bad luck powers can bring that will effect him.

Daredevil has ample time to show off for the Cat as well.  He can smell poison, he senses a heartbeat.  All of this is nothing compared to the final trick involving a billy club and a helicopter.  If Matt can hear and smell a dying man then he can certainly sense the effect his prowess is having on the Black Cat.  In Hell’s Kitchen, the ladies are pre-heated.

Without having any character look sexualized both Black Cat and Daredevil look strong and sexy as hell.  Not only is every long term comic book reader loving Daredevil, I would also put it at the top of my list of titles to hand to any woman curious about comics.
