From Image Comics, Brian K Vaughan, Fiona Staples, and Fonographiks.
Alright, I’ll be the bad guy here. I’m not impressed with this title. The comic book bloggers are going crazy about it but I just don’t see it. A male from one place falls in love with a female from another, people want to stand in their way, a baby is born, true love will conquer all. Its been done many times. Oh, but this one takes place in space!
Meh. Who cares?
The best thing I can think of to say about the book is that it reads like a movie script. Take that how you like. My intent behind it is that it reads as a dumbed down for the masses story that relies on old plot devices and twists that aren’t actually original.
Hopefully I’m wrong and later issues of the comic improve the story. But for now, I’ve been here already with better people.

Don’t give up on it yet, man. I more or less agree with you, but there’s a lot of potential in Saga. The first issue was a bit bland but when you are trying to create an entirely original universe, the exposition can to drag a little. Brian K. Vaughn is a beast and hasn’t let me down, yet…
