Thanks to friends in England, I’ve already watched Smackdown today! Yay for time differences! Let me review the show for you before you get to watch it tonight.
Damn I should have watched last week’s episode. That Orton vs. Cody match looks brutal in a great sort of way. Randy comes out and says he hates teams but will lead a team at Survivor Series anyways just to beat up some old foes. Well at least there’s some storyline consistency there. Wade comes out, cuts a promo, Christian joins him and its all a good start to set up Survivor Series. The two on one beat down takes place and the “Great White” Sheamus saves Orton.
Christian vs. Sheamus
Turns out to be a pretty good match. I don’t know when Sheamus became a face, nor when he became the Great White. Not a shark, just a great white. Which could go really bad really fast. Anyways, Sheamus wins and Christian still plays up the injury angle. Which is probably a good thing if rumors of his ankle injury are true.
Lots of talking! Daniel Bryan talks with AJ and Kaitlyn. Reminds me a lot of the Lance Storm big penis angle. Mark Henry makes a challenge to Daniel. Non penis one.
Ezekiel Jackson promo. Looks like someone is getting repackaged.
Aksana flirts with Teddy and pisses off Alicia Fox. Alicia who also has turned face out of nowhere and for no reason.
Ted DiBiase (and the “DiBiase Posse?!) vs. Jinder Mahal.
When you don’t get your own entrance music, and your taking on Ted, you know you’re about to be future endeavored. Jinder gets squashed.
Mark Henry (World champion) vs. Daniel Bryan
It doesn’t make a lot of sense to give your MITB holder a title shot, without the briefcase being on the line. Also, I still love Bryan’s entrance music. The match turns out to be very competitive and a great showing for both men. Daniel gets over with the WWE Universe when he’s playing the underdog. The fans start to cheer him on, he refuses to back down from Henry. Its damn impressive. Not enough though. Mark hits the World’s Strongest Slam for the pin. However, Bryan still looks good even in the loss. Mark brings a chair into the ring, but Daniel grabs it away and tries to fight back with it. Its like hitting a wall though. Henry just gets pissed off and squishes DB into the mat. Big Show comes out for the save and we have to look forward to another big guy vs big guy match.
Big Show vs. 3 jobbers.
Its possible one of these men is Tyler Reks. Poor Tyler. Yup, saw the tights. Its him. There goes someone’s career. Show squashes, duh.
Tamina (with Rosa Mendes) vs. Alicia Fox (with Aksana) and Natalya on commentary.
Wow, here are a bunch of women with no character development. I could not care in the least, and that’s nothing against the women. Its against the writing.
Fox wins
Not Mexican America vs. The Usos
Not the TNA team wins. Speaking of lack of character development.
Wade vs. Randy
Wade cheats to win, but all that matters is that he wins.
Not a bad show. I just wish WWE would develop some of their B team guys some more.

WWE and its matches. I think they’ve done all of their big matches already. So we’ll see so many Sheamus vs Christian and Cody vs Randy matches. Last week’s Smackdown was very wrestling heavy and had a story of Daniel & Henry. I guess the WWE can have its MITB shot winner get a shot before using his shot… That way he can win the belt, lose the belt, get denied his rematch then use his MITB shot… oooo won’t that be clever. WWE loves clever.
I’m happy show went over 3 jobbers. Heck having Randy Orton go over a job tag team still looks good.
Good to see they’re putting stock into Wade… but eh. How long will it last? He’s being pushed to be a stepping stone for someone to challenge Henry.
Dibiase… eh at least someone is getting a consistant push. First Tyson, now Jinder.
