Smarked for Death – TNA Xplosion 12/24/10.

Once more Taz and Jeremy Borash host.  And once more we will wonder why JB is playing announcer.

Oh no.  Shark Boy is still doing the Stone Cold gimmick?  That was great when he was actually on TV but now it just seems sad.

Robbie E (with Cookie) vs. Shark Boy

Robbie is announced as the TNA X Division champion, which he had when the episode taped but not when it airs.  One would think there would be some way to edit that out.  The announcers ignore the continuity problem and the match begins.  JB says that when Robbie lost the X title it ignited his ring work like they’ve never seen in Robbie’s TNA career.  Of a couple months.  There’s probably lots of things that TNA hasn’t seen out of Robbie before.  Like what he buys people for Christmas.  Or how he celebrates Valentine’s Day.  Anyways, Cookie distracts Shark Boy and Robbie takes the easy heel advantage.  Robbie lives his life by the motto GTW, gym tan wrestle.  Whether this is an original thought, or a parody off some Jersey Shore slang, its disturbing.  Robbie locks on a headlock for so long that the focus of play by play turns to Mr. E’s wristbands.  Mr. E?  Well TNA’s next gimmick for Robbie is already booked.  The camera work in this match is horrendous.  When does Shark Boy become a Shark Man?  And on that note he starts biting Robbie’s ass.  So, not anytime soon.  Shark Boy bites into the Cookie and in the fog of sexual satisfaction Robbie is able to fist pump a win.

Tommy Dreamer says Magnus is underrated and will test him.  With Dreamer’s win/loss record is there anyone who doesn’t test him?

TNA Spin Cycle has been folded into Xplosion.  Four of the TNA stars are displayed on bags of some potato chip brand no one has ever heard of.  Meanwhile WWE partners up with 7-11.  Hang in there TNA!  Spin Cycle will no doubt be a lesser show now that it is part of Xplosion.  Goodbye inside and perverted references.

Magnus vs. Tommy Dreamer

Taz and JB talk about how much Tommy loves wrestling.  Who cares?  How about how much he likes to win titles, or have great matches, or compete on Impact?  Magnus challenges Dreamer to a pose down.  Dreamer breaks out some classic Hogan and whenever his body gives out maybe Tommy could make it as a comedy wrestler for awhile.  The fans start to chant “Harry Potter” at Magnus.  Either that or the fans are ready to go to Universal’s newest attraction at the theme park.  The line must run through the Impact Zone.  Dreamer is really having a pretty good match here.  Not a match of the year or anything but a solid match.  Dreamer hits a hard DDT for the pin.  Always a treat, but always surprising when Tommy Dreamer wins a match.
