A few weeks ago one of my friends sent me a picture of a figure she was trying to identify.  It has now consumed my life. Take a look at the first picture:

It looks like so many things but exactly like nothing.  Classic G.I. Joe, Mego, Action Man, the list goes on and on.  I found out the figure is marked “Made in Hong Kong” so I started to check for bootleg Mego brands.

I stumbled upon this Wild West line of figures, which is so far the closest I’ve been able to get. Check out the front and back of this package.

 

There are similar boots, belts, clothes, glasses, and even head sculpts.  Yet still nothing looks exactly like this figure.  If there was a bootleg Teddy Roosevelt line of toys that would be my first guess.  He even looks a bit like this line of classic war figures.

I feel I’m on the right path here.  Its at least a Mego mold.  Possibly sold and cloned around the world.  My current issue is that after all of this searching I now want to own this figure.  A reward at the end of the quest.  But with all the difficulty in finding one example online, how will I find two?
