Hey as part of the Solace Winter PPV prediction contest… Huh? What’s that? She doesn’t anymore? Oh. Alright.
(Joke for longtime readers.)
As part of my own need to feel my opinions need to be out there and validated across the internet here’s who I feel will win lose or draw at this Sunday’s SummerSlam PPV. And I get to watch it live with one of my best friends.
1 Ryback (c) vs. Big Show vs. The Miz Triple Threat match for the Intercontinental Championship.
This match could have meant a lot more if Ryback hadn’t gotten injured. A lot of momentum was lost and it was a big question whether this angle was still happening or if the participants would do something else. But here we are. With all the talk over Big Show possibly retiring soon it would make sense to give him one more title run. One title that’s not the World title.
Winner and new champion: The Big Show.
2 The Wyatt Family vs. Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns Tag team match.
When did everyone decide that either Dean or Roman will turn heel? Cant we just enjoy some faces? Look at the rest of the card. John Cena is a face but for many of the other current faces I have to check my score card to make sure. Randy Orton? Depends on the day. Or the Diva who needs to buy a new bag. Both men stay face. However, this will be to their detriment. A new member of the Wyatt family will debut allowing them to get the win. I still want to see Adam Rose or Bo Dallas join.
Winners: The Wyatt Family.
3 The Prime Time Players (c) vs. Los Matadores vs. The Lucha Dragons vs. The New Day Fatal 4-Way tag team match for the WWE Tag Team Championship.
Hey remember a couple weeks ago when Hulk Hogan was exposed for saying racist things? Maybe it would be a good idea to show some championship caliber black Superstars. That leaves here and the Divas match. So we’re down to Prime Time Players or The New Day. New Day is over as hell as heels. Well done gentlemen. Prime Time Players have been waiting for this title run for a long time, and they still need to carry the belts a little longer in order to cement the respect titles bestow.
Winners: Prime Time Players, but The New Day will be winning it again soon.
4 Stephen Amell and Neville vs. Stardust and King Barrett Tag team match.
Really? Why on Earth would WWE bring in a celebrity and not have him go over? Easiest match of the night to call.
Winners: Team Arrow.
5 Kevin Owens vs. Cesaro Singles match.
Does Kevin Dunn have anything to do with this match? An independent wrestling lovers’ dream. Cesaro is so good in the ring he can get over with the fans regardless of wins or losses. However, Kevin Owens could greatly benefit from a win here. It makes his debut year in WWE look that much stronger and gives him momentum after most likely losing at NXT Takeover.
Winner: Kevin Owens.
6 Team Bella vs. B.A.D. (Naomi, Sasha Banks & Tamina) vs. PCB (Paige, Charlotte & Becky Lynch) Three-Team Elimination match.
Is this an elimination for each member of a team or once one woman is pinned is her whole team eliminated? Because that changes my answer. It sounds like one pin eliminates the entire team. Based on that I feel PCB need the win the most. Team Bella is more interesting the longer they have their backs against the wall. BAD has arguably the best wrestler in WWE in Sasha Banks and doesn’t need a team win. Especially if she’s not the one to be pinned.
Winners: PCB.
7 Dolph Ziggler (with Lana) vs. Rusev (with Summer Rae) Singles match.
Dolph always hangs on and Lana is being groomed to be a huge star for WWE. On the other hand, Rusev but more importantly Summer has never been more interesting than in this angle. Rusev and Summer Rae can benefit much more with the win here and draw more money over the rest of the fall.
Winners: Rusev and Summer Rae.
8 Brock Lesnar (with Paul Heyman) vs. The Undertaker Singles match.
Yeah like this match is going here. Anyways, this is really the toughest match to call. Undertaker needs the win to balance out the force but Brock himself is a force. Both men winning is important to the history of the WWE. If it was ‘Mania I would think Undertaker loses and gets to ride into the sunset. But who retires at SummerSlam? No one. That’s why this is part 2 of 3.
Winner: Undertaker. Setting up Undertaker vs Brock III at WrestleMania, which will be Taker’s last.
9 Randy Orton vs. Sheamus Singles match.
Really? Fucking really? Why is a match I’ve seen for free 100 times on SummerSlam? Without a title or stipulation or anything? This match will effect the title for title match, so let’s say…. Sheamus.
10 John Cena (c) vs. Seth Rollins (c).
Night of Champions is the next PPV. The US title should be defended. John Cena has done more to elevate that title than any previous champion. Seth Rollins wouldn’t have the same respect. So we need a gimmick in this title for title match. A way to keep the titles on their champions.
Money in the Bank.
Sheamus comes out to cash in. Randy Orton comes out to shut it down. Orton has issues with Rollins back to WrestleMania. Cena almost won the title. We have multiple match possibilities for the next show.
Winner: None.
My only other thought here is that Seth Rollins wins, because John Cena usually loses at SummerSlam. He gives up the US title and a new champion is crowned after a tournament at Night of Champions.
So what do you all think?
