Something happened tonight at home.  I told my wife that Kevin Owens (formerly Kevin Steen) had won the NXT title tonight.  She remembers Kevin Owens from this moment:

We saw him wrestle in an old small building in Syracuse NY.  But he’s not the only one.  Just off the top of my head I have seen Cesaro, Daniel Bryan, Luke Harper, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Solomon Crowe, and I’m sure I’m forgetting people.

That means I have seen someone live and in front of less than a hundred people who went on to win one or many WWE titles.  The only titles not represented are the womens ones and that’s probably more my error.

Take 10 bucks and a weekend night.  Go see some independent wrestling.  Get autographs, take pictures, buy shirts.  Then get excited when the guys (and girls) you knew back then grab hold of one of these belts.
