Its that time again. Time for me to join the masses trying to predict what will happen at WWE Payback. As always this is part of the one and only Solace Winter’s monthly contest. If you’re a wrestling fan you would be wise to follow her and get involved here.
Now with all of that out of the way lets see what I think will happen:
Sheamus vs. Damien Sandow.
There is just no way Damien wins this. Granted he’s being booked fairly well lately but there is just no way he gets a win over a former world champion. However, I do see him having a good showing at Money in the Bank.
Winner: Sheamus.
Chris Jericho vs. CM Punk.
Part of me wants to predict that CM Punk doesn’t even show up. In fact if Curtis Axel wasn’t already in another match I would predict him to come out and challenge Jericho instead. Also, a lot has been made out of this being Punk’s return and it will take place in Chicago. He will be hailed as a hero. Its time to do something different. That something different will be a double change. That’s right! Jericho will turn heel. I think Punk will be cheered and it will turn out all of this has been a set up. Chris Jericho, former ECW Television champion, will become the newest Paul Heyman guy at the expense of Punk.
Winner: Chris Jericho.
Wade Barrett vs Curtis Axel vs The Miz.
This isn’t even debatable. Wade has been booked horribly for most of the year. Miz as well. He wins the title back for one day and so far that’s been his most prominent match of the year. Meanwhile, Curtis is positioning himself at the top of the ladder and winning a title is a great way to cement that.
Winner: Curtis Axel.
The Shield vs. Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton.
The Shield need to keep the titles a little longer in order to show they deserve this massive push. Bryan and Orton seem to be headed towards their own showdown. Daniel also needs to be moved back into singles competition if he’s going to continue being a machine in the ring.
Winner: The Shield.
Dean Ambrose vs. Kane.
While I do think that Dean will keep the US title, I need to throw a wonky finish in here. The Shield run in and the referee has no choice.
Winner: Kane.
Kaitlyn vs. AJ Lee.
AJ has the attention and the air time necessary to raise the Divas division up a bit. Kaitlyn is fine and I consider her to be better than Eve or the Bellas. Her chasing the title and seeking revenge against AJ is the more interesting story. Plus AJ with gold would look great next to Dolph with his belt.
Winner: AJ.
Dolph Ziggler vs. Alberto Del Rio.
If they didn’t want Dolph to be champion anymore they would have stripped him of the title while he was recovering from that concussion. There are still some long term plans for Dolph.
Winner: Dolph Ziggler.
John Cena vs. Ryback.
This is going to totally be a Super Cena match. As I said with Dolph, there’s no way WWE keeps Cena away from the title for over a year just to have him lose it a couple months later. I could see Ryback winning MITB or the World title. But not the WWE title yet. However, Cena will have to come back from this match. Ryback dominates and takes the first fall. Cena has to overcome all odds to win the next two.
Winner: John Cena.
Tie Breaker 1: Who wins in what order in 3 Stages of Hell?
As I said above I believe it will go Ryback, Cena, Cena.
Tie Breaker 2: What move wins the match in The Shield vs. Orton and Bryan.
I think Dean Ambrose comes out, especially if his match with Kane is before this one, and the entire Shield hits the Triple Powerbomb for the win.
Tie Breaker 3: Who takes the fall in the Triple Threat match?
Curtis will win. Wade should get looking stronger. The Miz can take this lost and still look good.
Tie Breaker 4: Length of Kaitlyn vs. AJ.
Divas matches never get lots of time. I’m going with 3 minutes 29 seconds.
