There will be two big reveals in this article.  That picture right there is one of them.  Yes, Elise is pregnant.  Some would say that means “we’re pregnant”.  However, my back doesn’t hurt, I’m not in pain, my emotions aren’t always at the tipping point nor am I having constant doctor appointments some of which are a bit intrusive.  So, no.  She is pregnant. I am just trying to be as helpful as possible.

This will be the first child for both of us.  We’re excited and scared.  2012 was the year of wedding drama and honestly, after showing we can get through that now I know we can get through anything.  But a baby isn’t a lot of work for one day.  Apparently its for life.  Holy shit is that a commitment.

Word is that children are expensive.  So far we’ve been content with what we make.  Its not much and we’d like to make more but we have clothes, we’re warm, we eat and sometimes we can buy fun geeky stuff.  Now though there’s a kid.  So that means more money needs to come into the joint.  Neither of us wants to work harder, make more money and then spend it all on day care either.  Its the first kid, we would like to raise him or her.  I know, some will say its impossible and most likely we’ll both have to work horrible hours.  But dammit we’re going to try.

This means I need to be more serious with the site and with the writing.  More posts to get hits, which get ad clicks, which gets me money. Maybe sponsorship.  Certainly writing for other places which do pay.  Last, the baby is going to have to sleep somewhere which means a lot of stuff in this apartment is going to have to go.  Maybe it can go to your house.  Over the next few months lots of stuff will be posted to get rid of.  For cash, trade or free depending on many variables.

Now part of being serious means writing for other places.  Like the You Are Not Alone graphic novel I’ll be contributing to.  Considering that it is a very personal story I want to use my real name for it.  The book will be hyped on this site, meaning that you will all know my real name.  Plus if I’m mailing stuff around my name and address will be on all of that.

To benefit this site and my family I need to do more and part of that is going to have to be revealing my true self.

Whoa.  Man.  That was actually a tough sentence to write.  I had to come back to this post hours later, although obviously its only seconds for you.  You may think I’m being sarcastic but I’m not.

It started when I discovered the world of blogging and wanted to join it, but with a last name like that I wanted a bit of anonymity.  Its not like Smith or Jones.  Hell, I’ve done a search and there’s only one other person I can find with my name in the rest of the US.  Possibly world.

I grew up in New York, lived a few different places, went to college, worked a handful of good jobs and far too many shit ones.  Throughout all of that I wanted to write.  I took an assignment in the 7th grade to write a one page story into a 12 page spy story.  I wrote fan fiction notes to pass in high school.  I finally discovered a voice in college and have spent nearly every day since at a keyboard.

Little Hellions/Decent is going to need lots of help.  I’m going to need to be two people to get everything done.  My true self so I can be a good husband and father and man like my grandfather.  The alter ego of Kevin Hellions that provides freedom and has a following.

Forgive me if I bombard the internet or at times cant be on it.  I’m going to hustle and hopefully by this time next year these words will be my income and the little Hellion will be happy and well taken care of.
