I’m going to do things a little differently this week. Its becoming harder and harder to watch all of wrestling so I’ll go to the WWE YouTube channel to get all caught up on shows. Then I’ll still provide my running commentary and throw in some pictures and then you and I can discuss some wrestling.
Show opens, or at least the first YouTube video, is the Miz TV segment. Miz asks John Cena about his kiss with AJ. Cena and AJ debate whether or not the kiss was real or just to prove a silly point. Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero interrupt. Dolph either says he’s been with AJ or he would like to. It was a little weird and open ended. Some smart ass remarks and that looks to be it. Oh, that’s it except for Cena staring at AJ’s ass on her way out of the ring. Good boy Cena.
Ryback vs. Darren Young.
Not only is it Ryback, who I’m becoming a huge fan of despite of myself. But Darren Young is in the ring which means Titus O’Neil is on commentary! Its nothing but a squash here but its a fun squash. Its also hysterical to hear Titus say Darren is just about to reverse the move and defeat Ryback. Oh Titus asks for the music to stop so he can talk to the Ryback. Even better! Of course its just one kick and a Shell Shock and O’Neil is on his ass too. But at least he got to run his mouth first.
R-Truth vs. Antonio Cesaro.
Any and all wrestling fans should love Antonio. Great wrestler, and thriving in WWE despite no build up when he debuted. He just came out there in his tights with an accent and kicked some ass. Cesaro is almost keeping pace with Truth. Truth is slightly faster though and its that very tiny bit of speed that enables him to trip up Antonio for the very short but very important three count. I’ll be looking forward to this, most likely at TLC.
Sin Cara vs. Alberto Del Rio
Two very protected individuals. Del Rio has gotten better in the last couple of months, and I at times find myself getting wrapped up in his matches. Sin Cara however is too much of a risk in any match. I wouldn’t even trust him to not botch a two count. The horrible lights are bathing the ring, which does not add to his mystique but it does add to the fans’ annoyance.
Sin Cara wants to leap but Del Rio catches him and drags him down by the arm. Wait a minute, doesn’t Alberto have an arm based submission move. Yes he does, and there it is. Del Rio picks up a very easy win, and he deserves it in his quest to push Randy Orton out of WWE.
Team Hell No discuss matches and Thanksgiving.
Really just another silly Yes and No segment. However, a good use of WWE history in here. Team No Show was a good joke though. Its childishly funny. Not great, no jaw dropping lines like the smarks love. But it was dumb fun.
Team Hell No vs. Big Show – two on one handicap match.
Sheamus watches the match, but that’s not going to affect the TLC match at all. Daniel and Kane argue, as is to be expected. Kane walks off and Bryan gets choke slammed then pinned. Kane feels bad and comes back for his partner. Kane almost seems shocked that Daniel got beat. Well you walked away from your partner, that’s what usually happens. Show sees Kane and tries to throw a punch. Kane avoids it and coincidentally Daniel gets up too. The two tag team champions fight him off and Show walks to the back with a slight limp, but not as bad as Cena’s leg looks.
Kofi Kingston vs. Damien Sandow.
Wade Barrett joins for commentary, and again I’ll predict this is setting up for a TLC title match. The shorter versions of these matches on YouTube do nothing to show any story. Well, any match story. Its all about the story. However, I’m damn sure Damien and Kofi probably told a nice tale in their match but all is lost in order to cut this down to 2 minutes. Kofi gets the win, as expected because a loss doesn’t book TLC.
Randy Orton vs. Dolph Ziggler.
Not the main event I would have stayed awake or paid for. As has been said many times on here, I am not a Randy Orton fan. Even worse, I am a fan of Ziggler but I feel he’s been buried over the past year. He isn’t looking like a future World champion and that’ show a Money in the Bank holder should look.
Of course, as soon as I post that Ziggler gets a quick roll up on Randy and gets the pin too. Excellent. Dolph needs as many wins like this as possible so he looks like a champion. Del Rio and Ricardo try to attack Randy after the match. Try harder next time guys! Take him out!
John Cena attacks Dolph Ziggler after the match.
Its a quick attack, and just long enough to lock the camera on Dolph’s face and give the fans something to talk about until next week. Its a little strange that Cena, who is definitely a WWE title guy is in a feud with Ziggler, who can go after the World title with his MITB case. Well, it seems weird on the surface. Makes a ton of sense though to use Cena, who isn’t in another feud right now, to help get Dolph over as a main event talent. Now would Cena lay down and take a fair pin by Ziggler? That may be the true, and very close, test of this story line.
