S.H.I.E.L.D. has been ordered to pilot from ABC.

This is the promised TV show that will take place within the Marvel Comics movie universe.  Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen will write the pilot episode.

SHIELD currently stands for Strategic Hazard Intervention Espionage Logistic Directorate.  Well, currently it does.  The words have changed over the years.  Expect that to be an in joke.

Joss will also direct the movie “schedule permitting”.
