True Blood Season 5, Episode 2 “Authority Always Wins”

 

**SPOILERS AHEAD**

HOLY FUCK, TARA IS A VAMPIRE. And she bites Sookie! Hell, I probably would too if I was her.

God, I love pam. Pam as Tara’s maker is pure genius. And then we get crazy ass Tara. Tara who hates vampires. Tara, who had her brain blown out (and how does this work again, to be turned when she obviously had no life left? PLOT HOLE!) I do think that the story between Pam and Tara has a ton of potential, and I can’t help but wonder how Pam is going to be as a maker.

Pam as a Madam (manager of a whore house)? Genius. I am enjoying her back story, and her first meeting with Eric was quite indicative of their relationship. (The flashback felt a little Buffy-esque) And when Eric licked his bloody thumb so eloquently? Perfection. Interesting though that he didn’t run her then, showing that he was scoping her out. I hope this leads to a lot of Pam time this season, she’s one of the few fresh characters left.

Lafayette looks to kill Tara, Sookie convinces him to have faith. I feel bad for Lafayette, he keeps losing everyone that means something to him. Seriously Alan Ball, lets give Lafayette a break!

Eric & Bill, and whatshername….Nora.

Military. Bored now. Where’s the naked Askars? Prison cells…hm, if there is handcuffs this could get interesting. UV light torture. Somewhat more interesting.

Sam & Alicide. Eating of the old pack leader. Ew. And interesting. Alicide is pissing off the pack. Luna wants to see Emma. Debate on whether Emma is wolf or shifter. Apparently wolf. Umm, I thought these traits didn’t show until puberty? Or is that just in the books.

Sam “Easy, she just lost her son

Luna “She just ate her son!”

Terry and Arlene, not much going on. Where are we going here?!

Jason “Thats like getting to eat the pie without paying for the cow” (When discussing sex, or the one night stand Andy had). Also, naked Andy last episode….um…

Steve Newlan, former preacher, gay vampire extraordinaire. On TV. Maury show episode waiting to happen. He shows up at Jessica’s party to buy Jason. Can I buy Jason?!

Anyone else a little overwhelmed by ALL THE CHARACTERS? Oye. My head is spinning.

Vampire Bible? Lilith? Vampire Communion? Detective Stabler?! I am unsure how much I want to wade through this hefty story line. So, they want Eric and Bill to be fundamentalists (Humans are food, not friends), or they are? The bigger question is, do the viewers care? We get it. Religion hates Vampires, Gay sex, etc….what else you got?

This episode was a little underwhelming for me. I think there is just too much going on and I hope stories tie together soon.

Also, WHY WAS NO ONE NAKED? Seriously, True Blood, WTF.
