In an interview over at the Wrestling Observer, Dixie Carter said that TNA will now be focusing on the young talent. Also, there will be changes in format, presentation of the show and other new elements.
So….
I’ll give them Bobby Roode and James Storm as a good example of pushing young talent. Younger we’ll say. You cant go too young, because they don’t know what they’re doing in the ring yet. But if we take the rest of the Lockdown card for example we see the following not young talents: Bully Ray, Eric Bischoff, Rob Van Dam, Ric Flair, Jeff Hardy, Kurt Angle, Devon and I probably missed one or two.
The X Division title isn’t even being defended on the show. Sure, Austin Aries is on the card but if you want to actually push young talent the X Division is where its at. The Motorcity Machine Guns have been given a huge push upon their return, so its not all bad.
The problem is the rest of the news. The changes in format for TNA Impact wrestling. I fear this will lead to more interviews, promos, comedy skits, and other angles away from the arena. Probably not an increase in great wrestling and good stories.
Someone remind me this week, I’m going to do a Guest Booker post for TNA. I’ll take what is already there and book some episodes. Who wants to make a bet that it will be more interesting than what is currently going on?

Technically there is a focus on young talent with Roode, Storm, Aries, Crimson, Garrett, Gunner (not so much a focus). Can’t abandon the experienced guys for new guys just yet. The X-division has gotten burnt out. They could have had an X-Division 4 way escape the cage match, but that would be a throw away. Aries needs to lose that title and go onto bigger and better things, but TNA is having longer title reigns now for certain belts.
I think TNA feels keep matches short… except for women’s matches which are often the longest on TV.
