No one, and the Hellions means No One does tributes like WWE.
This is a one hour special hyping up the biggest WrestleMania match of all time. Maybe even the biggest wrestling match of all time. Both men’s families are shown, their origins, their histories.
Maybe its because I’m a Cena fan and have been from his first day in wrestling. Or it could be because I’m tired of the Rock’s whole gimmick. Either way, Cena comes across as much much better in this show. John’s parents and friends seem more genuine when interviewed. The Rock shows off his movies, and TV, and appearances and all of his famous friends. Sure John does that too but the focus becomes all of the good he’s doing. John Cena has granted more wishes for Make a Wish than any other celebrity. If he stays on this pace they’ll probably promote him as granting more wishes than any other celebrity combined.
Rock has gone through some crap in his life. The eviction mentioned tonight, having no money while playing for the CFL, a divorce, etc. Perhaps its because of the way Rock speaks about these topics, but he never comes across as sympathetic. John Cena’s parents and friends sound happy for him. They are thrilled to talk about this major person in their lives.
Even the wrestlers come across this way. While they all appreciate the Rock for what he has done, it is not respect. They like him as they would like any actor. Famous people who enjoy the work of another famous person. Then there is the way they talk about Cena. The WWE Superstars are stunned by his drive. He wrestles, acts, shows up on TV shows, and then gives back to every child that asks. From Jericho to Punk to Triple H every wrestler hold John Cena in high esteem.
I’m picking John to win this match. He needs to win it. It could be possible that because this is the outcome I want, I’m reading too much into it. But after watching this mini documentary I think WWE edited the hour so Cena looks better. Even the company is backing John over the Rock.
Or at least I hope so.
Under one week away.
(Side note. Damn but I do love “We are young” by fun. That’s the end song and its fantastic. Great CD too.)
