Its Monday night/Tuesday morning and I am out of work for the night so its time to sit down, grab a beverage, and enjoy live wrestling action!

Shawn Michaels has words with Triple H and then Shawn is named the special referee at WrestleMania.

Minuses:

Honestly, the whole thing went a little too long and was too much about their undying love.

Pluses:

Putting Shawn into this match, in any way, instantly turns this into a story four years in the making.  On a card that’s already full of big matches this one becomes even bigger.

Santino Marella vs. Jack Swagger with half the WWE roster getting involved.

Minuses:

Far too overbooked.  The story is not about Swagger or Santino, the story revolves around Teddy and Johnny.  Would anyone be shocked if a rematch is booked for Smackdown?  The titles are props in a way, sure, but matches like this devalue them.

Plus:

However, good for Santino winning another title.  For a guy playing the lovable loser who never wins role he’s won a surprising amount of belts.  Also, Santino won without anyone interfering on his behalf.  Its a cluster of a match but at least he looks strong winning the United States title on his own.

The Rock takes a dump.

Minuses:

All.  One, the Rock is coming across as pathetic.  This is the same routine he did years ago.  Nothing seems original or clever.  Speaking of neither original or clever the John Cena merchandise is horrendous.  Gene Simmons is embarrassed and calls Cena a whore.  Wow that’s some awful shit.

That being said, I would still proudly display any and all of it if one of my readers wants to send me some merchandise.

Alicia Fox vs Eve.  With Kelly Kelly on headset.

Minuses:

Kelly is up for a Nickelodeon award for being a butt kicker.  Remember kids, with a little hard work and porn starlet genetics you too can have pictures of you pissing in a sink come up on a quick Google search.

Kelly equating Maxim and Nickelodeon.

Any match less than one minute long, like this one.

The death of Zack Ryder’s push.  Woo woo woohat happened?

Eve Kisses Zack.

Oh what in the hell?  Unless this leads to a mixed tag team match at ‘Mania its a colossal waste of TV time.

HUGE minus:  Michael Cole reads Twitter responses.

John Cena’s empty arena promo.

Minus:  You know what would have made this segment mean something?  Crowd reaction!  It came across as flat.  Every word he spoke would have been better as an audio file overlaid upon a workout montage.

Minus:  Michael Cole sounds like a child who tattle tales on his older brother Jerry.  “Mommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Jerry is making fun of my tweets!”

CM Punk and Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan and Chris Jericho.

Minus, kind of:

Sheamus is good.  He might be great one day.  But he was on no where near the same level as Chris Jericho or Daniel Bryan.  I have no doubt Bryan can carry him through a good ‘Mania match but I’m not confident in that thought.

Plus:

Jericho pinning Punk needed to happen.  Now their match seems more unpredictable.  More thank likely Punk will get a win over Jericho to balance it out.  Its a nice tease and a good way to build up tension in the match.

The Rock talks again:

Its all minus.  The worst is when he says Cena says the same things over and over again.  The kettle is calling the Rock 25% black and 0% Clydesdale.

Big Show vs. Miz

Pluses:  Cody’s video is great.  There’s a lot more that could be done with this angle.  Why not dig up classic embarrassing moments of Show from WCW?  Or to really be a douche find footage from when he was sent down to OVW.

Big Show’s spear is the stuff nightmares are made of.  That may be my new go to example of a painful move in wrestling that cannot be faked.  That is all impact, all broken ribs right there.

The Rock talked more, and its a minus all throughout.  I want to say more negative words but what more can be said?  I could just repeat the same points each time.  After all, that’s all the Rock has done.

Not really a plus or minus yet, as its just hype, but I am excited to see the Shawn Michaels/Undertaker interaction next week.

R-Truth vs. Kane

Truth, and this match, served no purpose.  The whole point was for Orton to come out and further his match with Kane at WrestleMania.  I still see no reason for these two to feud, other than they are both main event talent that have nothing to do for the “granddaddy of them all”.

The Rock and John Cena finally talk.

Cena needs to turn heel.  His flashes of asshole-ness are inspired and engrossing.  There is a ratings goldmine sitting there.  Pull the trigger!  “Captain Catchphrase” is my second favorite line of the night.

Unfortunately my favorite line was from the Rock.  To  quote, “YOU WILL ALWAYS BE A LITTLE BOY WHO WILL GO DOWN IN HISTORY, ALWAYS AS THE ROCK’S BITCH!”  Something like that.  Anyways, it was the emotion Rock put into this line.  Its most likely just working the fans, but here is a glimmer of hope that these two men don’t like each other and maybe their hatred of each other will spill over into a great match.
