Not a whole lot of new releases that are worth buying today.  But the ones that are worthy are huge!

Game of Thrones The Complete First Season.

The show that brought Lord of the Rings to TV.  Before you all jump down my throat hear me out.  LOTR was a huge and expensive and long trilogy.  That same idea, of an expansive fantasy story, has been brought to TV and nothing was spared.  Not talent, acting, sets, directing, or underneath it all – money.  For anyone who watches Walking Dead and enjoys it for its unpredictability, sit yourself down on the throne.

The best thing I have heard about this set is that it contains “sophisticated adventures”.  That is a welcome relief after three horrible big budget movies.  Oh sure,explosions and Megan Fox and yay for being men and all that crap.  They’re bad movies!  This set however sounds like everything we’ve been wanting in Transformers lately.  Something fun and familiar enough for the nostalgia.  Yet also new, fresh and well written enough to engage a “sophisticated” adult audience.

Tennessee Tuxedo and His Tales:  Complete Collection.

Tennessee and his pal Chumley tried many a hijink in order to improve the quality of life at the zoo.  Its an outstanding, and very fun cartoon.  In my opinion, the adventures of these zoo animals is leaps and bounds better than the Madagascar series.  Tennessee is a better penguin as well.  Tune into this DVD set for 70 cartoons that are truly timeless.
