Avenging Spider-Man #3 Review.

From Marvel Comics, Zeb Wells and Joe Madureira and Ferran Daniel.

The Red Hulk might be dead, stabbed through the chest by one of the super mole people.  Spidey does… well exactly what he’s been doing throughout this title.  He heroes up like no one else.  I don’t want to write the same review again but its such a brilliantly written Spidey.  He saves J Jonah Jameson, saves the mole people, saves Mole Man, brokers a treaty with the super Subterraneans.  Not because its easy, or because it benefits him.  But because it is the right thing to do.  He even calls out J Jonah on his bullshit.  “You know that you can say whatever you want and I’ll still never let anything happen to you.”  Even with all the hate that Jameson has spit in Spidey’s face for decades, he has to admit that Spider-Man will always pull his ass out of the fire.

Smaller in every respect, Spider-Man still finds a way to win.  The other Avengers are stunned that he defeated an army without the Red Hulk’s help.  Its a great scene for Spider-Man and also a nice way to show that he wont be overshadowed in his own book.

The next crossover involves Hawkeye and I can only hope its as good as this first arc was.
