Its a very light week of awesome covers for a good reason.  As many of you know, every week I direct you over to Zeus Comics.  An amazing comic book store that should be held up as a template for all others.  Zeus Comics lists the new releases alphabetically and this week’s first title had such an amazing cover, very few could stand next to it.  Sure there were some other nice ones but few that could compete.  With that explanation out of the way…

Lets get this comic party started!

Amazing Spider-Man #678

Just look at that cover!  What is happening?  Is the world ending in flood?  Or is this the aftermath?  What is Spider-Man’s part in it?  New York’s greatest hero is about to be called upon like never before and I cant wait to read this book later today.

Chew #23

“You know what I haven’t had in awhile?  Big League Chew.”  I cant believe it took Chew so long to go for this gimmick, but if they had done it earlier would it have meant as much?  Hysterical cover and I think we can all look forward to the Cibopath baseball card sets.

Dead Man’s Run #1

Also known as the best comic book coming out today.  This cover is terrifying.  To be so close to the light, but have so much darkness dragging you down.  Its the kind of comic that keeps you up late at nights.  In related news, I read an advanced copy today and its the middle of the night when I write this.

Back Issue #54

Its rare that I feature a magazine cover in the best of the week.  Its also rare that an understated image says so much.  This is strength.  This is confidence.  This is power.  This is also a woman who is clothed (for comics) and looks beautiful at the same time.  Its an inspiration to artists.  Anyone can do tits and ass.  Very few can draw confidence.
