Its a new year and this is the first week of numerous DVDs being released.  Lets find some good ones.

More than anything else this week, I want a copy of Shriek of the Sasquatch.  Nothing about this movie looks good.  Which is why I so desperately want it.

Random old Doctor Who sets.  I love the new ones, but I’ve yet to get hooked on anything before the 9th Doctor.  Maybe one day.

GI Joe Series 2 Season 1.  This is the second group of GI Joe cartoons from the classic 1980s toy series.  This season just missed that 80s cut off.  Its not as good as the original series, but there’s a lot of weird and crappy stuff there too.  The point of watching GI Joe is not to discover the best written show in TV history.  Its to sit back and enjoy the hell out of a really fun cartoon.  In that respect, this season still succeeds.

Bonus Shout Factory pick, Dennis the Menace season 4.  I know I watched all of these way back when Nick at Nite first started.  Not sure if I saw all of them, or if I watched them in order.  Why not start now?

This isn’t a Shout release but if you love 1980s cartoons check out the new pack.  80s Cartoon Bundle – C.O.P.S. Jacye and the Wheeled Warriors and Pole Position.  It looks like loads of fun.  13 hours?!  And its only about 10 bucks?  Yeah, I need this.

Pacific Blue the Complete Series. For those of you who remember enjoying this show before and after the original one hour episodes of WWF Monday Night Raw.  I couldn’t tell you a single plot or character, but I do remember lots of fun guest stars and lots of tiny outfits.

Australia After Dark.  Find out all you wanted to know and then a whole lot more about Aussie Exploitation.  If you loved Not Quite Hollywood then this needs a spot on your shelf right next to it.

Before They Were Stars – Rey Mysterio Jr.  Collections like these could go either way.  Usually featuring a lot of old independent and/or international videos that probably weren’t filmed in high quality to begin with.  Definitely for obsessives and collectors but there could be some gold buried within.
