Best New Comic Book Covers Today! 12/28/11.

I can’t believe that the comic book companies don’t just take two weeks off this time of year.  But I’m glad that they don’t.  New comics abound today!  Use up those gift cards and buy some new floppies of goodness.  (That might be a really good book title).

Speaking of titles, if I had to bestow the title of World’s Best Comic Store on anyone it would be Zeus Comics.  Go to the site, order some books, and support good comic book stores.

Lets get this comic party started!

Alpha Flight #7

Taking a good picture with mirrors is hard.  I know because we tried to get a cute picture today using a mirror.  Drawing such an idea must be maddening.  Kudos to the artist.

Anne Rice Servant of the Bones #5

So few stories are told from the point of view of the skull. We really need more of them.

FF #13

Franklin Richards bows before Doom!  Well, he’s only raising his fist but I think the bow is implied.  These Richards kids are going to become the biggest characters in the Marvel Universe in a few years.  Depending on what goes on in this issue, maybe now.

Flash #4

This cover is a great new way to show how the Flash sees the world.  I think this is going to be a new method of telling Flash stories.  Right up there with speed lines and the lightning streaks.

Green Lantern New Guardians #4

MINE!

Hack/Slash #11

Cassie Hack will next appear as Ilsa the She Wolf.  Kidding, but damn that’s a bad ass cover.  This cover should be on an old VHS tape that changes a young boy’s like in the 1980’s.  Harry Knowles should be marking out over this image.  Aint that cool?

Justice League Dark #4

Excuse me, I may have to finish this column later.  I have a splitting headache.

Spaceman #3

Wait if that’s Mars, then where is he and why is there water?!  I’ve been debating on picking up this title and this cover may have just pushed me over.
