The Best Comic Book Covers This Week 12/14/11.

There are so many comics coming out today that I’ll try to buy.  A bunch of Avengers, Walking Dead, even shit that I know I wont like but I’m really curious about, like Battle Scars.  With all of that available I decided to be very picky with this week’s list.  Only 5 comics on it.  And one that is, wow, damn.  My friends over at Pete’s Basement will be raving about this cover for sure.  Well, that’s enough hype lets see which covers are worthy this week.

Lets get this comic party started!

Batgirl #4

Its a hell of an amazing, dynamic cover.  Then you see that other foot.  Slamming right into the mush of the bad guy.  Its a static image, but fluid like Bruce Lee.

Batman and Robin #4

This is what we all see happening at some point.  Damian trying to usurp his father and don the mantle of the bat for himself.  Whether or not that is the destiny for the latest Robin remains to be seen (probably not for years) but this cover is a haunting image of what might come.

Frankenstein Agent of SHADE #4

Is this on Netflix?  Is it a Mystery Science Theater 3000 movie?  This cover looks like something I’d find out about from Scary Monsters magazine.  An old batshit crazy horror movie from yesteryear that I never heard of before and now want to buy and watch over and over again.

New Avengers #19

Its a good cover.  It would be a much more impactful one if your average comic book reader had any idea who these bad guys are.  A for effort, F for casting.

Carnage USA #1

Hey yayyayyyy. There’s a party in Carnage USA!  But seriously, this is the cover of the week.  Something that will grab every comic book fan by the pants and say if you don’t buy this right now I will break everything else you’re holding inside these trousers.  Young or old you cant look at this cover and not say, wow what the fuck is going on here.  Hopefully the story inside is just as good.
