Quick and easy one today.

If your geek doesn’t already have a Netflix subscription then it is your responsibility to gift them with a year long pass to it.  You don’t even need to get the DVDs in the mail, although that is nice too.  Not everything is available on streaming.  Yet.

But look at this the other way.  There are things available on streaming that aren’t available on DVD.  I’ve been going through all of the Marvel comics cartoons, and damn near everything that ever existed is on there.  Every Spider-Man cartoon over the decades. The X-Men.  Then there are classics like He-Man, Heathcliff, Bravestarr.  Get your kids into the great cartoons of yesteryear.

Or you could up your geek cred by watching the shows you never got around to.  We have sat down and marathoned entire series that there’s a good chance we never would have bought but now are obsessed with.  Battlestar Galactica, The League, Being Human.  The list goes on and on.

This is addition to thousands of movies of course.  There is so much available that my queue usually tops out at around 100 things I need to watch.  And I’ve barely scratched the surface.

As next year approaches there will be more and more to watch.  There’s a good chance the new WWE Network will have some sort of Netflix component.  Plus any new deal with any studio will bring forth hundreds of titles and thousands of hours of enjoyment.  All for what?  10 or 15 bucks a month?  Its the price of one DVD.  There is no debate.
