My Top 50 Albums of the Decade!: Part 45 of 50

The Saga…needs a hair cut

6. Pearl Jam – Pearl Jam (2006)

Fifteen years after the release of Ten, Pearl Jam put out this album, which finally lives up to their debut. This is Pearl Jam to their rawest and it seems that all it took was being dropped from their label. I’ve always liked Pearl Jam because they’re a band that knows how to evolve. Most grunge bands of the era didn’t, and some even still thrive in Seattle living in that mentality. With that said the success of this album is in stripping away the old Pearl Jam and starting from basics. That’s what you get on this album, straight up Rock & Roll and if you like rock, you will like this.

Recommended Tracks: “Life Wasted,” “World Wide Suicide,” “Comatose,” “Parachutes,” “Unemployable,” “Big Wave,” “Inside Job”
