7. Adele – 19 (2008)

This year, “Rolling in the Deep” is probably the biggest song of the year, but her debut album, 19, is one that I don’t want to say people overlooked, but holy crap this album is incredible. One of the most brilliant songs I’ve ever heard is a song called “Best for Last.” This song is built solely on a baseline and that’s what you get for most of it other than some strings and piano. Her voice and the bass just work perfectly. Adele is one of the best singer/songwriter’s I’ve ever listened to and her follow up 21 lives up to that quite well.
