13. Coldplay – Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends (2008)
Brian Eno can make any band better, I mean look at what he did to U2 on the Joshua Tree, special assist to Daniel Lanois on that one too, but Coldplay pulled a Radiohead on this album and totally changed up what you’re used to from them. You get a combo of the ambient, the rock and the normal Coldplay you’d get, just taken to the next level. The song writing is brilliant on this album; it takes you on a sonic drive to a wonderful place. I hope their next album can live up to this potential.
