21. John Mayer Trio – TRY! (2005)

A few months before this album was released, John Mayer Trio released the single for “Who Did You Think I Was” and I was blown away. I’ve always known John Mayer to be a fantastic guitar player and not living up to his full potential, but this song is straight up blues-rock. Months later we got the live album TRY. As a trio, they make better music than John does with his regular band. Sorry to say, but its true and the fact that it’s a live album makes it all the better, its raw, in your face and passionate. Please John…make a studio album to your full potential!
