24. OneRepublic – Waking Up (2009)

Ryan Tedder got his start writing songs for other people, then, four years ago, he wrote an album with his band OneRepublic called Dreaming Out Loud. Many will recognize the track “Apologize” featuring Timbaland. Then they put out Waking Up a couple of years later and it’s this album that made me fall in love with this band. Two years later they are still releasing singles from it, and while I want to see new material, I don’t mind coming back to it. I am also a sucker for orchestration and Tedder knows how to use it well. The fact is that he is a fantastic songwriter and it shows on this album.
