Lion King comes out, but its also out in theaters right now too. Plus, its a huge movie. If you don’t know about the Lion King already my DVD column wont help. This is about featuring the geeky and the little known. So lets get right to it.
Team Hellions suggests you support independent retailers. As always, our favorite DVD store is Scarecrow Video out in Seattle. Check out http://www.scarecrow.com/ for their huge selection and great prices.
The League Season Two
I have a confession to make. I’m not a sports guy. Yes, I know wrestling is fake. And I do love the UFC (although not enough to stay up to date on things lately). But that’s it. Not a fan of baseball, football, etc. The great thing about the League is that you don’t have to be a sports fan in order to love this show. Vulgar and brilliant at the same time, which is harder and rarer than you would think. Prepare to be offended but not care because you’re laughing your ass off.
The Walking Dead The Complete First Season
Just a ton of new extra features and a nice pretty BluRay edition of the show. Its a great show, and I cant wait to see the second season any day now. Even if you already picked up a set, its worth it to buy every version and get every extra. The show, much like the comic, is all too engrossing.
Transformers Beast Wars Seasons 2 and 3
No, its not the classic series you loved in the 1980s but its a really good show on its own. We are this much closer to finally having every version of Transformers available on DVD in the US.
Elvira’s Haunted Hills, Elvira’s Movie Macabre: Scared to Death/Tormented, Elvira’s Movie Macabre: Lady Frankenstein/Jesse James Meets Frankenstein’s Daughter
Grab these right off the rack! Enjoy these stacked releases! But remember, they aren’t available until Tuesday. Don’t be too premature! (You see, Elvira makes certain jokes…)
And that’s it for this week. Wow, this is a very light week for releases. Makes me a little scared for next week and the hit its going to have on my wallet.
