My Top 50 Albums of the Decade!: Part 7 of 50

The Saga…Goes Deeper…(That’s What She Said)

44. Damien Rice – O (2003)

Has folk ever been cool? Maybe for a little while when Bob Dylan was embracing it early in his career, but not since then. Back in 2003, Rice released this album, and the Allmusic.com review of the album said it best: “the entire record makes the empty highway less lonely, the sunshine a little warmer, and life a little more poetic.” The best way to describe this album is simple, just simple.

Recommended Tracks: “Delicate,” “Volcano,” “The Blower’s Daughter,” “Amie,” “Eskimo”
