Once again we’re looking at some cool DVDs that are coming out for the general populace to buy today. If you didn’t spend all of your money during Labor Day weekend or buying school clothes for your children, of course. Hopefully not because there are some great things coming out today.
We’ll look at all that in a moment, but remember, if you want to buy some awesome DVDs its better to support the independent stores. Borders is gone, WalMart only wants what they can sell that week and it doesn’t get much better. Until you get to the small stores. Those stores that do it for the love and desire to share something awesome with the world. There’s nothing more fun than helping someone discover their new favorite movie. One of the best small stores you’ll ever find is Scarecrow Video. Throw them some support each and every week.
X-Men First Class
Start the debate over which Marvel movie was the best this year with repeated viewings of First Class. Both Professor X and Magneto give convincing arguments for their sides. The new characters introduced are great with wonderful special effects. Plus cameos! It was a freaking awesome movie that I cant wait to watch again and then peruse the extras.
Community The Complete Second Season
The best description I ever saw about Community is that its like a live action Simpsons. The show is more than just a little study group. Its now about an entire world, with its own rules and history. Don’t pick this up if you haven’t watched the first season. Its a series that rewards with every viewing.
Hanna
Way too young girl becomes hardcore spy trained killer. If you’re alright with the idea of kids doing some fucked up things (as in, if you enjoyed Kick Ass) you might enjoy the shit out of this movie.
Fringe The Complete Third Season
I have not gotten hooked on Fringe yet but my fiance is neck deep into it and loving every moment of the show. I need to get caught up, but that’s no reason you cant start loving this today.
Scream 5 Film Set (Scream 1-3 plus two documentaries)
Yeah, how does this count as a five film set. DVD extras, even feature length extras, do not count as another movie.
Randy Orton The Evolution of a Predator
Orton can be an incredible asshole, but there are some great matches on this set. Personality aside, its a must buy for any wrestling fan.
House
House II The Second Story
I cant believe my luck at having this come out and for such a cheap price. These two films were the first two horror movies I saw that helped me realize horror can be more than blood and gore. There can be great ideas, humor, adventure, and a fun plot.

Strange kids shows for you this week. Sigmund reminds me that I want to read movie reviews written by stoners. Yeah, its not going to happen. Motivation and all. But damn it would be funny.
Burst Angel Box Set (Classic)
I feel like I’ve seen some of these episodes before and loved them. Its here on a temporary basis, until I remember if I did like it. But you might still love it. With any anime, give it a shot, you never know where these stories will go.
Disco Worms
What the hell is this? How can they properly disco dance without limbs? This is my pick for the dumbest title of the week, but if I find it for a good price I will be buying it up. Oh, also starring Jane Lynch
