There is so much out there. So so fucking much. One of my good friends calls me “the ultimate consumer”. I am that guy who buys the book, the DVD, and the CD. I double dip and buy new editions of things I already have because of one insignificant difference in the two versions. The second edge to this sword comes into play when my dreams of being a writer bubble up. Its not enough to own a complete run of Buffy for example. I must blog about it. There must be reviews and opinions and then these must be tweeted and linked. Because dammit people want to know what I have to say about media that is years if not decades old. (Just wait until I get to Dark Shadows.)
However, this desire to share with the world becomes a paralysis. I need to accumulate things in order to write about them, which in turn becomes a mountain I’m too intimidated to climb.

There is no shortage of ideas or desire in this blog. There is a shortage of discipline though. The Covered by Metal series stopped 600 short of completion. I’ve only reviewed 2 out of 70 something issues of ROM. The podcast ran out of space and money. Yet, this page has well over a million hits. Something I created, that wasn’t there before, has been looked at over a million times. That’s pretty extraordinary for a part time blogger. My ideas flow continuously. There are plans formulating for a daily series in September and October, plus a year long project idea I have for 2012.
But what good does that do anyone, especially me, today?
I mean, does anyone care what I have to say about The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo? Probably not. But there are enough people in comics, wrestling and related nerdity who seem to enjoy the words that come out of my fingers.
This is all to promise I will commit to this page. Kevin Hellions needs to be known. I’m not asking any of you for help. I needed to write my feelings down to get them out. No more will I see the ideas and the collections as something overwhelming. Every day can be a little blog, a little post, a little victory. And every one of those could be that moment where someone notices.
Projects will be completed. Posts will go viral. I will be published!
