Smarked for Death – Flash Review! TNA Impact 1/27/11.

Flash review means that this show is watched with much fast forwarding.  You want a full review?  Put on a better show!

Kurt Angle and Jeff Jarrett’s feud is reviewed, then they have words for each other.  Immortal gets involved for some reason.  There is no better gift for Kurt’s new significant other, and mother to his child, then to watch her husband trying to get his wife back on national TV.

Sarita, Madison Rayne (TNA Knockouts champion) and Tara vs. Mickie James, Angelina Love and Velvet Sky

Winter gets all psycho on Angelina before the match.  Remember wrestling fans, its fine to do a pseudo lesbian story but don’t you dare do anything gay.  This will also be an elimination match.  All the women go at it at the same time and its like the glory days of Vivid Video again.  Sarita rolls up Velvet for the pin, and their feud continues.  Is it bad that I forget about this rivalry every week?  Not a captivating one.  Madison ends up punching herself out and gets pinned.  Sarita sneaks in to pin Mickie.  Dramatically we go to backstage where Velvet is on the ground holding her head.  Amazing how much better this match is than Divas matches.  The three women left in the match love wrestling and it shows.  Mike Tenay needs to stop calling the women “legal”.  I keep thinking Sarita just turned 18.  Angelina hits the Botox Injection on Tara for the pin and a minute later reverses Sarita’s pin and Angelina is the sole winner.  This match was everything women’s wrestling should be.  Even Velvet, who was called the weakest link, is better than most Divas.

Monkey spot fest X Division match which Max Buck wins.  Its not that I hate Generation Me, its that the Hardys are so bothersome right now that their younger clones are being hurt by the shrapnel.

Jeff Hardy is a drug residue crusted black light poster come to life.  And poor Mr Anderson has to carry around his shitty belt.

Lot of talking on this episode.

Mike Tenay says Velvet is “P.O.’ed”.  If you cant say the whole word, don’t say anything.  Then Velvet calls Winter a bitch.  Twice.  Yet pissed off needs to be changed into PO.  Amy Lee of Evanescence comes out to music she sings too.  Oh, that’s Winter.  Winter and Velvet have a brawl.  By the way, Winter Velvet sounds like something out of Twilight.  The two women fight over Angelina’s love.  Or partnership.  Same thing.  Angelina saves Velvet and the much better love triangle story raises its game.

Twenty minutes of talking.  The Pope continues to have no direction.  Dixie Carter and Eric Bischoff give wrestling fans what they want, corporate intrigue!  Its great that TNA hired John Grisham as a writer.

Mr Anderson vs. Matt Hardy

When the fans come to see the Hardys they come to see… arm bars?  Matt needs to start wearing a shirt again.  Or learn that there is more to the gym than machines that work your arms.  I think 1.0 wasn’t his Version, but his number of abs.  Anderson thankfully gets the pin.  Jeff Hardy attacks, Rob Van Dam makes the save, and both got paid way too much money for 2 minutes of work.

Kurt Angle and Crimson vs. Immortal

Crimson is huge and should not be getting this big a push this soon.  Angle and Crimson get beat up a lot.  Jarrett comes down to pick the scraps of Angle.  But enough about Karen.  Immortal celebrates.  Matt Morgan takes his sweet ass time trying to make a save.  The lights go out and when they come back on Scott Steiner is in the ring scaring off Immortal.  Expect to see Steiner dubbed the One Man Mafia any week now.
