This is the first review of Xplosion on this site. Even though its mostly a review show this has the potential to be fun. Show opening is nicer than the current Immortal centric Impact opening.
Lot of reviews and backstage interviews. Don’t worry about any of that this week, lets watch some wrestling! What day of the week is this supposed to air? Because they’re hyping Final Resolution yet the show is airing after the PPV.
Abyss vs. Rob Terry.
Two guys WWE would love to have. Abyss is to Mick Foley what Demolition is to the Road Warriors. A copy that evolved into its own entity. Other wrestlers may have wrestled more matches for TNA but no one has bled more for the company than Abyss. Terry has that look WWE drools over. And all the wrestling talent of a Diva. But he’s trying, and isn’t a lost cause. However, a body that packed with muscle doesn’t leave much room for memories. Taz calls the potential for Terry to win to be an upset. Agreed, but Terry could be at the same level as Abyss. Would only take a few wins to be booked that high. Terry tosses around Abyss like a wrestling buddy. Abyss tosses the referee aside and kicks The Freak in the sack. Abyss, while a heel, should not have to resort to such cheap moves to get a pin. Which he gets after hitting the Black Hole Slam. Even in his victory, Abyss looks weak. Which means that had Terry won it wouldn’t have been so shocking.
Robbie E (with Cookie) and Magnus (with Chelsea) vs. Eric Young and Orlando Jordan.
Think of how hard your job is, and how much time it takes up. Chelsea just got paid more than that to walk into the ring. Life isn’t fair. Cookie looks like the girl at the bar who only exercises while fucking strange men. And if you’ve ever watched a shoot interview, that may not be far off. Why are the lights turned down low for Xplosion? Its like early WWE ECW when they were going for that indie feel. Eric Young wrestles his current confused style. It would be hysterical if not for the fact that he’s been doing it for months and that’s all he’s got going on. OJ flirts with Magnus, who used to dress as a gladiator, so one cant fault Orlando for assuming. Also, there should really be a picture of Jordan standing outside of Universal Studios next to a sign that says, “Now Entering Orlando”. Magnus chivalrously protects Cookie, which leads to Robbie arguing with Magnus. Not out of jealousy, Robbie just doesn’t like the English coming in and stealing his livestock. Magnus flirts with Cookie while Robbie eats Jordan’s boot. Young may be so crazy he’s brilliant. His running around the ring doesn’t appear to serve any purpose except when he easily evades both opponents. Cookie tries to spray something awful in Young’s eyes, but Eric moves and the former brute takes the whole blast. Eric rolls up Magnus for the pin.
